Stand-up Comedy: Squirly & Umar Azad performing material from Perth Intl. Fringe Festival

STAND-UP COMEDY AT FROTH THIS SATURDAY!

Exmouth's greatest (and only) comedy export Squirly is off to Perth Fringe Festival and will be trialling his new show "SQUIRLY IS: DYING ON STAGE" this Saturday night at Froth.

It's a double bill as another stand-out comedian from the new era of hilarious W.A comics to perform at Perth Fringe Festival, Umar Azad, is flying up with material from his own new show "HALAL: IS IT MEAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR?".

Free entry / 18+ material / 8 P.M start. Don't miss it.

SQUIRLY

Dying on stage....the worst feeling a comic can imagine and an essential learning curve to true funniness. 2016 WA Raw Final winner Squirly chronicles his experiences through an unintentionally hilarious eulogy speech, to telling jokes to a packed Melbournian crowd of 1500 people, and the cringe-inducing feeling of performing a 55 minute show for a crowd consisting of only one semi-English speaking middle-aged Swedish couple. A mixture of being darkly humorous, sometimes silly and inevitably upbeat, Squirly's easygoing country nature allows him to navigate through tales of sordidness and melancholy whilst always leaving the crowd assured that there is a bright side coming.

"Hilarious and unassuming, Squirly will quickly rise the ranks of the comedy circuit..." Milk Bar Mag, 2018.

Starting his comedy journey by entering Raw Comedy in 2016, the small town resident shocked the stand-up scene by not only winning the WA State Final but also winning rave reviews for his performance on the SBS aired National Final in only his third time on stage. Since then Squirly has honed his craft all across WA before delighting crowds and critics alike with his country charm after taking his first full-length show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

UMAR AZAD

Migrating to Australia as a child has given UK born Umar a unique view of the world. In his much anticipated feature-length show, he unapologetically describes the challenges of living multiple different lives in order to survive. Join Umar as he lifts the veil of secrecy on trying to be the best Bogan Muslim he can possibly be - without his Pakistani mum finding out! A poster child for cultural integration, Umar entertains crowds with impersonations of influential people in his life, mixing high-energy comedy with a unique urban flavour that left the crowd in stitches at his sold-out split shows at FRINGE WORLD 2018.
